FAQs

What Is the Main Difference Between the EcoFlow RAPID Pro, RAPID, and RAPID Mag Power Banks?

The primary differences between EcoFlow RAPID Power Banks are their power output, output types and battery storage capacity. For example, RAPID Mag offers Qi2 wireless charging for iPhones and other compatible devices. RAPID Pro is the high end line and provides up to 300W of DC output for running and charging multiple devices like laptops, mobile workstations, tablets, and more. RAPID is the basic line and is perfect for charging phones, tablets, and ultra-compact laptops like MacBook Air.

Which EcoFlow Power Bank is Best for Charging a High-Performance Laptop Like a MacBook Pro?

EcoFlow RAPID Pro is the best power bank for professional-grade mobile workstations and laptops like MacBook Pro. If you’re a multitasker or creative who needs to run multiple devices simultaneously with a portable power supply you can take on a plane, EcoFlow RAPID Pro provides the maximum lithium-ion battery storage capacity allowed on commercial airplanes for in-flight use. If you’re on the road instead of in the air, RAPID Pro gives you the freedom to operate professional electronic devices off-grid.

What Types of Devices Can I Power With the RAPID Pro's 300W Output?

The RAPID Pro's 300W total output is designed for creatives, business professionals and tech-savvy users who need to power a mobile workstation or multiple high-demand devices simultaneously. Here are some real-world examples of what you can do with 300W of power.

The Mobile Professional's Desk: Power a high-performance laptop like a 16-inch MacBook Pro (which can draw up to 140W) through one USB-C port, while simultaneously fast-charging your tablet (like an iPad Pro), your smartphone, and your wireless headphones through the other ports.

The Content Creator's Field Kit: Photographers and vloggers can use the RAPID Pro to charge multiple devices at once between shoots. Connect and charge two separate camera battery chargers, a drone battery, a mechanical gimbal, and a portable LED light panel, all at the same time.

The "Work from Anywhere" Setup: Power your entire remote office without being tied to a wall. You can run your primary work laptop (like a Dell XPS or Lenovo ThinkPad), a second portable monitor that runs on USB-C power, and keep your phone topped up for hours.

The Traveling Tech Enthusiast: For a long flight or train ride, you can charge your laptop, your partner's laptop, and both of your phones simultaneously, ensuring everyone arrives with fully charged devices. The 300W output means you don't have to choose whose device gets priority.

With 300W total output, the RAPID Pro moves beyond just being a portable charger. It becomes a true mobile power hub capable of supporting a complete ecosystem of professional and personal electronics at the same time.

Are All EcoFlow RAPID Power Banks Approved for Airline Travel?

Yes. The maximum storage capacity for lithium-ion rechargeable batteries on passenger airlines is 100Wh (approx. 27,650mAh). Between 100Wh and 160Wh, you need written permission from your carrier. No Li-ion batteries or devices with over 160Wh of storage are allowed onboard commercial flights. Additionally, all devices and power banks with Li-ion batteries MUST be taken as carry-on. Li-ion devices like portable chargers, e-cigarettes, phones, and tablets are forbidden in checked baggage. Depending on your airline, additional restrictions may apply. Always confirm with your carrier before leaving to check in for your flight.

How Many Times Can the EcoFlow RAPID Pro Charge My Smartphone or Laptop?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. It depends on numerous factors, including the state of charge of your devices (is the battery full or flat), power consumption, and the number of devices connected simultaneously. EcoFlow RAPID Pro provides 27,650mAh (99.5Wh) of storage, meaning it can power a device that requires 100W of power for an hour (when fully charged). If your phone has a battery capacity between 4,000mAh and 5,000mAh, RAPID Pro will fully recharge it about 5 to 7 times. A typical laptop battery has a capacity of about 50Wh to 70Wh. EcoFlow RAPID Pro can provide at least one full charge for most ultra-portable and standard laptops, with enough power to charge other small devices like your phone or tablet.

Can I Charge Multiple Devices at the Same Time With the RAPID Pro?

Yes. You can charge AND operate multiple devices simultaneously with EcoFlow RAPID Pro. Many portable power banks can only charge your devices. RAPID Pro offers up to 300W of DC Output, meaning you can run devices that don’t have batteries. As long as the combined power requirements of the attached devices don’t exceed 300 watts, you can run them simultaneously until the 99.5Wh battery runs out. Unlike many portable power banks, EcoFlow RAPID Pro supports devices without batteries that require standard electrical outlets. Most portable chargers only support USB-C rechargeable devices.

What Does the 27,650mAh Capacity of the RAPID Pro Mean for Air Travel?

27,650 milli-amp hours (mAh) is the equivalent of 99.5Wh of battery storage — the maximum capacity for lithium-ion rechargeable batteries permitted in passenger airplane cabins by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other regulatory bodies, as well as domestic and international airline carriers. No Li-ion batteries are allowed in checked baggage due to the risk of thermal runaway and fire. Some countries, like South Korea, may have additional restrictions on power banks and their use on board. Even domestic airlines, like Southwest, have recently applied additional regulations regarding use.

How Fast Can the RAPID Mag Wirelessly Charge My iPhone?

EcoFlow RAPID Mag (10,000mAh) provides Qi2 15W Wireless Charging. Depending on your model, it can wirelessly recharge in approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. Plug in your iPhone 16 Pro for Ultra-Fast Charging with the 65W Built-in Cable and recharge in as little as 25 minutes for up to a 50% charge. Last-gen iPhone models like iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 support a charge rate of approximately 25W - 27W, while iPhone 16 Pro models support up to 40W charge rates. The EcoFlow RAPID Mag’s 65W output ensures the fastest possible charge times for iPhone 16, the upcoming iPhone 17, and beyond. Some Android phones, like models from OnePlus (Warp Charge) and Oppo (SuperVOOC), already support 65W Ultra-Fast Charging.

Is the RAPID Mag Compatible With Non-iPhone Devices?

Yes. EcoFlow RAPID Mag is compatible with all Qi2-compatible devices, regardless of manufacturer. Qi2 is a universal standard for wireless charging. Manufacturers other than Apple have been slow to embrace Qi2 wireless charging, but more compatible Android phones are coming to market. EcoFlow RAPID Mag also comes with a built-in USB-C cable for Ultra-Fast Charging, making it compatible with all current Android phones. If your Android device offers 45W or 65W Ultra-Fast Charging, you can charge even faster with RAPID Mag (5000 mAh/30W USB charging) or RAPID Mag (10,000mAh/65W USB charging). Current iPhone models max out at 25W - 40W charge rates, but are still fully compatible with the built-in RAPID Mag Built-In USB Cable.

How Do I Know if My Device Is Compatible With EcoFlow RAPID Power Banks?

EcoFlow RAPID Power Banks are compatible with all USB-powered rechargeable devices, including USB-A, USB-C, and mini-USB. RAPID Mag Power Banks support Qi2 wireless charging for iPhones and other compatible devices. EcoFlow RAPID Pro supports all USB connectors and devices that charge or operate using direct current (DC) electricity. EcoFlow RAPID Power Banks do not have a built-in inverter, so devices that require AC (household) electricity to operate are not directly supported. If you require a compact off-grid electricity solution with a built-in inverter, consider an EcoFlow portable power station. EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus offers 600W (1200W) of AC/DC output and is expandable up to 858Wh of LFP battery storage. It also functions as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with >10ms auto-switchover to protect sensitive electronics like desktop computers and external hard drives.

Do I Need Airline Approval to Bring the RAPID Pro Max in My Carry-On Luggage?

No. EcoFlow’s RAPID Pro Power Bank provides 100Wh of lithium-ion rechargeable battery storage, the maximum amount allowed in carry-on baggage on a passenger airplane. However, depending on which airline you’re flying with, there may be restrictions regarding storing and using your power bank in the cabin of the plane. For example, Southwest Airlines now restricts power bank and portable charger use in-flight, and requires passengers to keep portable chargers visible at all times while operating, meaning you can’t charge your phone or any other device in your bag or the overhead storage bin. The rules for portable batteries on flights are evolving worldwide. Confirm the regulations with your specific carrier if you’re in doubt.

Can I Store My EcoFlow Power Bank in My Checked Luggage When Flying?

No. All lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, power banks, and portable chargers are banned from checked baggage worldwide. Li-ion rechargeable batteries from all manufacturers are susceptible to thermal runaway. In rare circumstances, Li-ion battery cells can heat up uncontrollably, starting a chain reaction that results in a fire. Cabin staff on commercial airlines are trained to quickly extinguish a battery fire should one occur. Checked baggage is kept in a cargo hold with fire suppression technology, but a blaze caused by a lithium-ion battery could overwhelm the system, with disastrous results. Some Asian airlines and US carriers like Southwest further restrict the use and storage of Li-ion rechargeable batteries in-flight, for example, requiring them to be in plain sight and not stored in overhead bins.

What’s the Difference Between Milli-Amp Hours and Watt-Hours? How Do I Convert mAh to Wh?

Milliamp-hours (mAh) and watt-hours (Wh) measure battery capacity in slightly different ways. Commonly used as a spec for portable devices like Android and iPhones, tablets, ultra-compact laptops like MacBook Air, and more, amp hours (Ah) and mAh measure electric charge. They tell you how much current a battery can provide over a fixed period of time. For example, a 10,000mAh battery theoretically provides 10,000 milliamperes of current for one hour. However, Ah and mAh only measure electrical current, not voltage. Watt-hours (Wh) measure total energy (Voltage + Amperage = Watts/Kilowatts) over time (watt-hours/kilowatt-hours. Because the formula includes current and voltage, it’s a more accurate measure of a battery's energy storage capacity. Airlines and regulatory bodies such as the FAA use watt-hours to measure the total storage capacity of rechargeable batteries in power banks and devices like e-cigarettes. It’s a universal standard. High-capacity battery storage devices like solar generators also measure capacity in Wh or kWh. Learn how to convert mAh to Wh.
