FAQ
How does the STREAM system work?
The STREAM system is designed as an intelligent home solar system that prioritizes the use of solar energy. When solar generation falls short of the power demand, the system provides automatic power backup via the battery. If there’s still a shortfall, the grid supplies the remaining power. When solar output exceeds consumption, the excess energy is first stored in the battery. Any additional surplus can be exported to the grid, depending on your settings and in compliance with local regulations.
How do you enable energy balancing between multiple EcoFlow STREAM Ultra Units?
To enable energy balancing between multiple Stream Ultra units, all devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network and added to the same "Space” within the EcoFlow app.
Does STREAM Ultra need to be connected to Wi-Fi and the EcoFlow app?
A Wi-Fi connection and the EcoFlow App are essential to unlock EcoFlow STREAM Ultra's full potential. Without them, features such as smart automation and complete home energy management are unavailable. Bluetooth or LAN-only connections provide limited functionality.
What is a rigid solar panel?
Our rigid solar panels are made from highly efficient monocrystalline solar cells that convert up to 23% of solar into usable energy. The cells are protected by a robust, anti-corrosive aluminum frame, making them perfect for outdoor use.
Is EcoFlow STREAM Ultra waterproof and dustproof?
EcoFlow STREAM Ultra's NEMA 4 rating makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. To ensure optimal performance in your home solar setup, we recommend installing it in a shaded, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme weather.
Can the EcoFlow STREAM Microinverter connect to the STREAM Ultra? What about third-party microinverters?
Yes. The EcoFlow STREAM Microinverter connects seamlessly with the STREAM Ultra for optimal performance. STREAM Ultra also supports third-party microinverters via its standard AC outlets (NEMA 5-15), providing flexible compatibility with a wide range of solar setups.
Can the Ecoflow DELTA Pro Ultra charge using existing rooftop solar?
Yes, the EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra is compatible with most existing solar systems, including rooftop solar panels.* Each DELTA Pro Ultra inverter from the Delta Series accepts up to 5600W of solar input (16.8kW with 3 inverters):
High voltage PV: 80–450V, 15A, 4000W Max
Low voltage PV: 30–150V, 15A, 1600W Max
*Important Safety Note: If connecting to existing rooftop solar, NEC regulations require a rapid shutdown function. Please consult with a certified installer before purchasing.
What are EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra's solar charging priorities?
To maximize clean energy use and energy bill savings, the DELTA Pro Ultra charges in this order:
Low voltage solar (PV)
High voltage solar (PV)
5 + 8 interfaces (including Smart Home Panel 2). These allow connection to additional solar generators or battery sources
Grid (Household Electricity) - Used as a last resort when solar or battery power is unavailable
EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra supports numerous additional charging methods, including EVSE charging stations, gas generators, and vehicle alternator charging for the ultimate in flexibility.
Does Ecoflow DELTA Pro Ultra work with an existing grid-tied system that does not have a backup feature?
EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra is designed as a standalone whole-home generator and does not support exporting power back to the grid under net metering programs. However, unlike grid-tied systems without battery storage, the DELTA Pro Ultra provides continuous power during blackouts and reduces your reliance on the grid for everyday use. It can charge from the grid to ensure your battery is always ready if solar panel production is insufficient to meet your household consumption needs.
Can I Install the EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2 Myself?
Absolutely not. While we understand the desire for DIY projects, EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 2 must be installed by a licensed electrician. Attempting self-installation is dangerous and may be illegal depending on your location. Professional installation is essential for your home solar system's safety and optimal performance. We offer installation consultations to help you connect with qualified installers.
How to connect EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra with Smart Home Panel 2?
The DELTA Pro Ultra connects to Smart Home Panel 2 using an EcoFlow Power Input/Output Cable (5 + 8). For larger solar battery systems, additional cables are available on the official online store.
