EcoFlow DELTA mini: Your Questions Answered

-

We took the crowd-fave’d, critic-raved EcoFlow DELTA portable power station and shrunk it down for a different kind of adventurer. For those who want to take 882Wh anywhere they go, here are some answers to your most popular questions.

EcoFlow DELTA mini

How many solar panels can I hook up to it?

EcoFlow DELTA mini’s technical specs for solar input are: 300W, 11–75V DC, 10A max. In practical terms, you can connect multiple solar panels in series (i.e., connecting one panel directly to the next) as long as their combined open circuit voltage doesn’t go over 75V.

Can I use it as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS)?

EcoFlow DELTA mini can be used as an emergency power supply (EPS), which has the same result as a UPS for most electronics. Here’s the difference: When your EcoFlow DELTA mini is plugged into the wall, any electronics plugged into it get power from the grid, not its battery. When power from the grid stops, it switches to battery supply mode within 30 milliseconds. During that time, sensitive electronics like desktop computers and data servers may turn off, but most devices will run as normal.

Can I use it as a solar generator?

Yes, EcoFlow DELTA mini can be charged from solar panels, which is how many people understand solar generators. Call it what you will, but we prefer the term portable power station because EcoFlow DELTA mini doesn’t generate energy internally. As part of a solar panel kit, solar energy will be generated, so calling it a solar generator also works.

Will it recharge from third-party solar panels?

Yes, EcoFlow DELTA mini is compatible with portable solar panels that are 10–75V DC, 10A max and that have solar panel connectors. We recommend using solar panels that have a combined wattage of around 300W.

Can I use EcoFlow DELTA mini while it’s charging?

Yes, it can discharge while it’s recharging from an AC input, car outlet, or solar panel.

Will it back up my house during a power outage?

EcoFlow DELTA mini’s battery capacity is best suited for backing up only a few appliances during a blackout such as fridges, personal medical devices, and the comforts of home.

Can I use the extra battery units from another model with EcoFlow DELTA mini?

EcoFlow DELTA mini doesn’t support extra battery units.

Can I connect two EcoFlow DELTA mini’s together?

You can recharge one EcoFlow DELTA mini with another, but both units will use up some energy in the recharging process. You’ll save battery capacity if they’re not linked.

Can I use all of the wall-outlet sockets at once?

Sure! But make sure the combined wattage of your electronics doesn’t go over 1400W unless you want to use X-Boost.

What is X-Boost?

X-Boost is an EcoFlow technology that lets you power an appliance with a wattage above the portable power station’s normal output. In this case, EcoFlow DELTA mini can power electronics totaling 1400W without X-Boost, but with this feature enabled, you can power electronics totaling 2200W. X-Boost is not for everything, especially not sensitive devices. We recommend using it for things with a heating element that you don’t mind working at a slightly lower temperature.

What is the difference between EcoFlow DELTA mini and DELTA?

EcoFlow DELTA mini is lighter and smaller, and EcoFlow DELTA has a larger battery capacity (882Wh vs 1260Wh) and power output (1400W vs 1800W). The ability to charge from solar panels, vehicles, and wall outlets is the same. Upgrades we gave EcoFlow DELTA mini are support for the EcoFlow app and X-Boost, which lets you power some 2200W appliances.

What is the difference between EcoFlow DELTA mini and EcoFlow RIVER 2?

While both draw inspiration from bigger models, the two are quite different. EcoFlow DELTA mini’s 882Wh capacity and 1400W output make it ideal for powering multiple power tools, special equipment, and home electronics at once. The EcoFlow RIVER 2 has less capacity (just 256Wh) and output (300W)  because it’s much smaller and much lighter (7.7 lbs).

How long does it last?

All rechargeable batteries lose capacity over time but how fast depends on the battery. In ideal conditions, EcoFlow DELTA mini’s battery will have 80% health after 800 cycles; most phone batteries and portable power stations reach 80% health after only 500 cycles.

Can I jump my car battery with it?

You can! With our special accessory (coming soon), EcoFlow DELTA mini will double as a portable battery booster.
